What is Everybody's Gone to the Rapture? Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a first-person adventure developed by The Chinese Room, originally released for the PlayStation 4 on Aug. 11, 2015. It was later adapted for PC and re-released via Steam on Apr. 14, 2016. The spiritual successor of Dear Esther, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is set some time in the 1980's and focuses on dark visuals and themes. The plot is based around six characters in the village of Shropshire during an assumed apocalypse.
